Drunk driving, concerts and other major events

People make the decision to get behind the wheel even though they are drunk for different reasons. For example, someone may struggle with an addiction to alcohol and they may drive under the influence because they need to carry out responsibilities such as driving to or from work. Or, someone may be so intoxicated that they have a disregard for their safety and drive drunk regardless of the risks. Unfortunately, this can make life even harder and bring on a number of serious consequences.

During certain occasions, the prevalence of drunk drivers may be even greater. For example, some people may drink while attending a popular concert or music festival (others may take drugs as well, which can also significantly impact their driving abilities and lead to serious legal consequences). There are other types of events, such as a major sports game or political rally, which can also lead to an increase in the number of intoxicated drivers.

If you plan on attending such an event and drinking, it is imperative to stay off of the road if you are over the legal limit. Some people do not follow this advice, however, whether they think that they can get away with it because they only have to drive a short distance or they simply forgot that they are not legally allowed to operate a vehicle due to their inebriated state. This can be especially likely to result in drunk driving charges if there is an increase in the number of law enforcement officials who are watching out for drunk drivers.
