It’s that time of the year again in Springfield; Ozarks Beerfest is this Saturday. Each year we look forward to this afternoon of watching live music and eating delicious food, all while sampling the wide selection of beers from breweries across the Midwest.
But that isn’t why we so fervently support it. Beerfest proceeds benefit the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Ozarks, which plays a critical role in our community. The Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization matches children with role models who serve to support them. The Little Brothers and Sisters receive essential encouragement from their “Bigs” that enables them to be confident in their home and school life. To add some perspective, the Little Brothers and Sisters are 46 percent less likely to start using illegal drugs and 52 percent less likely to skip school.¹ These relationships are positively changing lives for years to come.
We wish to see Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Ozarks continue to flourish and set an example for other organizations. Our very own Scott Pierson has been serving as a Big Brother in the program for years.
On Saturday, we’ll join the hundreds of Ozarks residents weaving through the Expo Center tasting some of the best beer in the Midwest, and we couldn’t be any more proud. For more information and tickets visit their website. Make sure to visit our booth, we can’t wait to see you there!
